Vision Stick
The various models of Vision Stick are small, pole-mounted color or IR
video cameras with their own light sources and integrated video
monitors. They will work in dark areas, light areas, or in confined,
hard-to-view space such as sewers, casings, tanks, wells, vaults and
compartments. Among the many applications of the Vision Stick is the
ability to look into openings as small as 1.5 inches in diameter. The
user can safely view areas otherwise inaccessible, and can adjust the
non-conductive, telescoping pole from 48” to 10.5 feet. A choice of an
integral IR or LED light source is available.
Telescoping Pole Sizes:
The Vision Stick features a 3.5” screen which provides an excellent image, and keeps the unit lightweight and easy to handle.
The quick-change, slide-through battery system allows battery
replacement during critical operations without interrupting the image
on the screen. The screen does not go blank during a battery change.
Sound: The Vision Stick places the microphone at the front of the unit
because sound is picked up best with the microphone pointed in the
direction of the image. The Omni-directional microphone provides sound
pickup from a wide angle and is suitable for search and rescue
applications where the direction of the sound is unknown. This system
has a liquid proof cover that is used for protection in case of
immersion. For narrower pickup — such as conversations from a distance
— a more sensitive, directional microphone is also available. The
earphones have level adjustments to provide clear sound at comfortable
levels. The sound systems come with a special earphone system, which
minimizes the volume if the head of the Vision Stick hits against a
hard surface. Both the sound and the video signal can be transmitted
using the Vision Stick S-Link to a base station or second monitor.
Under the Door Viewer (UTD)
The Vision Stick UTD system module pictured has a flat paddle, which
slides under a door to view what is on the other side. The system plugs
into the monitor power supply and comes with a handle that allows
control while standing.
The system has a 95° field of view that is off set 30° from the floor
to allow viewing the whole room, including beside the door. The paddle
is a matte silver color, because it is less obvious than black would
be. The matte silver tends to pick up the color of the surrounding area
helping it avoid detection.
