The AIR COMMANDER
AIR COMMANDER has been designing and building hovercraft since 1984.
These safety and mission equipped hovercraft gives first responders the
capability to reach locations that are impossible using normal
transportation. The Air Commander hovercraft platform enables optimal
positioning for rescue or firefighting operations. The hovercraft is
especially effective in dealing with boat fires, jet ski accidents, ice
rescues, and flood conditions. The Air Commander hovercraft allows
rescue teams to extract the injured from life threatening situations
and literally transport them to the door of a waiting ambulance or
other emergency vehicle. The hovercraft is designed for two stretcher
platforms and can accommodate a team of four to six people, depending
on the model.
Air Commander’s decades of hovercraft design and manufacturing
experience is used to produce standard and custom designed special use
hovercraft equipped for a customer specific application. The AC6 model
is a basic platform with dual engines, that provides exceptional
vehicle control and platform stability for up to 6 passengers.
The hovercraft can be configured and equipped for multiple missions,
be they fire fighting; terrain, water, or ice rescue; transporting the
injured, or support staff, and ferrying emergency equipment or
supplies. The balanced design of the Air Commander hovercraft provides
for secure deployment in rough water and most terrain.
Use of the latest design principles and technologies provide
increased performance, reliability, and sound reduction in all models
of the hovercraft. The company’s research and development program keeps
them at the forefront of hovercraft design, performance, and
reliability and has earned them numerous awards for technical
innovation and design. They have also produced multiple National
Hovercraft Racing champions and numerous first, second and third place
finishes.
Hovering on Ice
The ability of the Air Commander Rescue Hovercraft to operate on land
